Jay Temple

Criminal Defense Attorney

I attended law school in San Diego at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During law school I was invited to join the School’s Law Review and eventually worked my way up to the position of Senior Editor. For my work on the Journal I received the Law Review’s prestigious James Madison Editor Award. In 2010, I graduated from law school, Cum Laude, passed the California Bar exam, and began working as an associate attorney for one of the most prominent criminal defense firms in San Diego. In this capacity I represented clients at every stage of the criminal proceedings in misdemeanor and felony cases.

After four years as an attorney in private practice, I fulfilled a longtime aspiration of opening my own criminal defense law firm. My office currently represents clients charged with crimes ranging from basic misdemeanors to serious and complex felony cases.

To keep abreast of changes in the law and the court policies in San Diego, I am an active member of several legal organizations dedicated to the fields of criminal defense and trial advocacy. For example, I am on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association. I am am adjunct law school professor and teach courses related to criminal law. I also lecture to other attorneys about criminal law and have published work about defense strategy. My specific experience in criminal law along with preparation and diligence in every case I work on translates into a track-record of successful outcomes for my clients.
